THE EVOLUTION OF THE BUTTON COVER
Button Covers can be traced back to the Victorian Era, and were originally designed as an "Accoutrement" for MEN.
Rumor has it: Men's dress shirt buttons would commonly BLOW post dining.
Button Covers designed larger than the original button & hole quickly became the perfect solution for the "Proper Man".
With that said: How long do you think it actually took for women to decorate their shoes and adorn frocks?
Button Covers returned as the "IT" accessory of the 1980's.
1980's: An Icon Sporting decade where Women would SPLASH a Horse, Cat, Dog, Conch, Clock, School House, Owl, Berry or Whale wherever she could!.
Unfortunately, Button Covers couldn't escape society's desire to dress in theme.
